Philosophia Icon
We recently finished an icon for the brand Philosophia. The project had to appeal to both sexes (Philo will be the men’s line & Sophia the women’s), be relevant to the marketplace & have a meaning. More of the story after the jump.
Basing our work on the Chalice & Blade symbols from ancient times, we came up with a loose variation of 2 triangles (the blade represents man, the upward triangle & the chalice represents woman, the downwards triangle). The “folded corners” are a play on an infinite loop / moebius strip. Of course, it got extra points in our book for also being “stencilable”.
While we did do some revisions, the final design chosen was essentially the original presented. We’re happy & the client’s happy, that’s the goal.
