My friend Mathias Ringstrom sent me this today & it’s just too funny not to post up. There’s a whole lot more to this post if you want to follow the jump.

In case you didn’t know, that’s me in the bottom left photo. It’s taken from the Dr Pepper “The Manliest Low Calorie Soda in the History of Mankind” commercial below.

The commercial was made by Deutsch & is a tongue-in-cheek take on 70’s commercials like the Hamm’s Beer ad below. There’s a whole article over on the Deutsch blog about making the ad which is a pretty interesting read. One interesting quote from the ad is from associate creative director Erick Mangaali, saying “There’s no slickness to the old commercials. It’s almost as if they shot one take and said, ‘That’s a wrap,’”

Anyways, it’s all good & funny that I look like the dude in the Manliest Low Calorie Soda in the History of Mankind. I looked into getting a bear to cruise around with but all I found was a bunch of hairy gay dudes. Oh well.
